Motormouthpress, LLC is owned and operated by Laurie Coughlin since 2004. The name Motormouthpress originated in 1999 as the press name for her artist books, while earning her MFA at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. "Motormouth" stems from the nickname her father affectionately addressed her when she was little. She talked with such gusto and speed; its said that her average was 5 sentences per breath.Laurie's first love is book design. She enjoys the en-tire process from selecting the paper stock and book structure to inventing the content and executing the layout to finally watching the pages roll off the press and bound into book form. She has always aspired to share her good design sensibilities with the others, and with books being a costly endeavor, she decided to achieve this goal by creating a well-crafted line of greeting cards.Thus, a few years shortly after graduation with a BFA in Graphic Design in one hand and a MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking in the other, Motormouthpress was transformed into Motormouthpress, LLC. In recent news, she continues to share her love of graphic design while teaching at The Art Institute of California - Sunnyvale and is beginning to add line of artist books to her e-shop offerings.
It is our great pleasure to offer you an appetizing and exceptional array of stationery, greeting cards and artist books. We specialize in food themes and greeting cards that double as mem- entos from the sender. These gift tokens take on many shapes and forms such as a poster, ornament, or giant stick of gum. Our fondess for food and storytelling is reflected in many of our products; but we are also nudged and inspired by many things in life. We are working towards becoming good earth stewards as new products become available.All of our products are printed with soy-based inks and all of our envelopes contain recycled paper and/or post-consumer content. Most of our products are made with paper that contain post-consumer content or are tree-free. We are also transition- ing from clear plastic sleeves to biodegradable ones for our packaging.
